- Familiarize students with the purpose of statistics, in a broad sense is the collection, compilation, analysis and interpretation of data.
- Knowing the importance of sampling theory concepts in view of its operationalization through statistical inference.
- Learn to use statistical inference, in order to characterize a population starting from a random sample.
- Becoming aware that the methods of statistical inference are characterized by a given uncertainty (which can be quantified) associated with the determination of a statistic.
- Know and use the techniques of statistical decision. Formulate hypotheses and evaluate them through hypothesis testing.
- Know some basic multivariate statistical methods to management practices at the level of segmentation of markets / customers and data reduction.
- Using statistical methods in management to support decision making.
