Post-Graduate Programme in Social Gerontology

Program Description

Its main objective is to respond to the new training needs of professionals working in institutions with intervention in the elderly population, as well as to prepare staff from different fields of knowledge who intend to work and intervene in areas associated with aging phenomena and processes. In this sense, this postgraduate course aims to promote a multidisciplinary and holistic knowledge of the issues related to aging and, therefore, embody an integrated knowledge of good practices in the field of Gerontology.

At the end of this Postgraduate Course, participants should be able to:

  • Understand the problems inherent in the aging process of individuals and societies, understanding intervention processes in Gerontology from a holistic and multidisciplinary perspective;
  • Analyze the main concepts related to Social Gerontology, namely those related to health and social policies to support the elderly population;
  • Assess and intervene in the good management of organizations and social facilities, contributing to raising the quality standards of service providers in the field of Social Gerontology.
