There are merit awards, in partnership with Caixa Geral de Depósitos, awarded annually to the best undergraduate and master's students, in the amount of €500 individually.

All undergraduate and master's students can apply for social grants from the Directorate General for Higher Education (DGES), on an equal footing with state public higher education students.

Certificates of recognition of academic merit are awarded to the best students in each academic year of each cycle of study.

The scientific journal “Gestão e Desenvolvimento” has been published at IGOS since 1992, with a peer review process, under the DOAJ method, with students being encouraged to publish the best research work developed, thus promoting the recognition of the quality of that research work.
