This curricular unit aims to provide a holistic and current understanding about information from a management perspective. It also seeks to highlight the role of information management in developing strategies, supporting decision making and improving the effectiveness and efficiency of processes. Finally, it aims to expose master students to the main lines of research in the field. At the end of this curricular unit, master students should be able to:
- Identify how information management can be the basis for developing strategies;
- Know various types of organizational information management and identify their relevance to a given organization;
- Understand the challenges of implementing information management systems in organizations and propose appropriate measures to overcome them;
- Critically review the scientific literature in the field and identify areas where research can be developed.
