This curricular unit aims to provide an elemental understanding of the context, activities and tools of organizational management. It also seeks to sensitize students to the need to learn to manage the ambiguity and complexity inherent to management activities. Finally, it aims to develop an initial set of knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary for the exercise of management roles that will be deepened and developed in other curricular units of the study cycle. In particular, students should be able to:
- Recognize the fundamental principles and the evolution of management thought;
- Apply fundamental management practices, adapting them to the context and needs of the organization;
- Use management models and tools to assist decision making.
